This layout was a favorite of both my wife (for its looks) and mine (for its ease of cleaning). One other item we did to the coop that is different from the plans is that it is double walled with insulation for the cold winters. I am now working on a weather vane to put on the top as a surprise for my wife. Thanks for making these plans available!”

The Egg Plant Chicken Coop With Run – Built Using Our Daisy Chicken Coop Plan

“We did build the Daisy with a slight custom look. I have always loved Salt Box homes and this was our chance to build one. We used antique doors, old barn wood, free plywood, free metal roofing, two $20 windows, and 2×4’s! The coop is precious! I painted it Ginger Spice and plan on painting trim cream soon. My husband put a tree limb on the roosting boxes and it looks so rustic. I loved your first coop! I’ll check your website for a picture of your new one! “After many hours searching online for the perfect chicken coop, I found your web site. I loved your coop and showed to my husband. I told him that was the coop for me. After ordering the plans, I showed him that you even had the material list laid out. So all he had to do was get the truck and lets go shopping.This was my birthday, anniversary, mother’s day and Christmas gift in one. Just what a woman has always wanted! It took a total of 98 hours to complete…that was working 4 hours a night after work and 2 full days. We have a horse farm so we were able to build it inside the big barn, out of the weather, and then move it with the bobcat.

The girls have been enjoying the coop condo and today I received my first eggs. What a great surprise! We started the coop on my birthday and got my first eggs on my anniversary. That’s what I call timing! Thank you so much for putting your plans where others could enjoy them. I have been told I have the best looking chicken coop in Fayette County!”

“I have attached 2 images of our new Shiloh chicken house…We love it! We poured a foundation for the house so it sets very level. We did not put in the wood floor, rather we have filled it with 12 inches of sand on top of the concrete and are using the “deep litter” method of handling the manure. I also installed a solar operator for the chicken door, it saves a ton of time each day…

In addition, we wired an exterior outlet for a power cord in the winter. Inside, we have a switch to operate a heat lamp and heated waterer. Minor changes but we took the great plans and just tweaked them a bit for our setting. Thank you!”

“The plan was worth every penny! We followed it pretty much to the letter – we did make the back doors narrower, but other than that it is working out well according to the plan. I have cleaned it out once using a huge barn dust pan and it is very simple to do! All that is left to do is the siding. It will be board and batten to match the siding on the barn. We will send those finished pictures when it is done.”
