Hi! I'm Mona!

I was raised in a small town near the Wyoming/Utah border on a cattle ranch, which my parents worked very hard to build up. I remember helping burn sagebrush as a little girl, to clear new ground so we could plant alfalfa for the cows. Being the fifth of ten children, our life was very busy! We had a great hay crew to tend the fields and irrigate, then harvest and stack our own hay. There were many other responsibilities such as calving season, branding, dehorning, and vaccinating the cattle. Other chores included fixing fences, milking cows, and gathering eggs.

My sisters and I loved our chickens. They were a big part of my childhood and we always had plenty of eggs. Each day was exciting to go and see how many we could gather. Occasionally, a broody hen would hatch out chicks and that was the funnest of all to watch! After I got married, I moved into town and started working. I missed our family's ranch dearly and wanted animals in my life. Fast forward a few years and my husband comes home from work one day and hears tiny little peeps from the kitchen. We had four little girls at the time and Daddy couldn't resist those little faces asking if we could keep those peeping chicks!

Since I was raised around chickens and knowing what they need, I decided to design something that was not only functional for the animals and myself but also something beautiful to look at. I began to draw on a piece of paper what I wanted it to look like. My husband, being the amazing man that he is, built me what I named the Daisy coop. My friends and family were so impressed and loved the design. I decided to share our plans with the world and designed two other coops: one for those with teeny tiny spaces and one for those who have a little more room. We hope you enjoy our chicken coops and that it brings joy into your life like it has for us! Our coops are easy to clean, beautiful to look at, and create a spacious and luxurious environment for your chickens to lay delicious eggs!
